The Baja's license plate is mounted on a spring loaded holder, which deploys when the tailgate is lowered.
This is so the license plate is not obscured when the tailgate is down.

Yes. You can even find a Baja turbo with a manual... but good luck prying it from the cold dead hands of it's owner.

Yes, both turbo and non-turbo, just not with leather seats. Those were only on the turbo, and only with the automatic.
